It's a great honor to be able to do things, from what other can only dreaming. And if one can combine it with another passion in his life, it's simply a unique satisfaction. The Mountain Sport was putting into his cradle. His father - Walter Almberger - did the first Winter ascent of the Eiger North Face in 1961. Hence it was probably the determination of the young „Almberger" to start searching about what makes the „old ones" so fascinated by the Mountains and Climbing. Early on he went his own, unflinching way and repeated severe Alpine Classics in the Gesäuse. Superlux, Dachl Komplizierte, Dachl Rosskuppenverschneidung were just some of his Highlights in the early 80's. In the 90's the interest in Photography grew more and more. And inevitable the mountaineering and Photography has been linked. Thanks for joining the gallery and I wish you great moments in the Mountains … … and the eye for the essential!
