Chris Sharma is an american rock climber, one of the sport's greatest personalities ever , long regarded as the absolute number one. Especially after he was the first in the world to climb 9a+, the Realizationh/Biography route. For a long time he had the title of the strongest climber in the world.
We met at the International Climbing Film Festival in Teplice nad Metuji and we were far from just talking about climbing, I was much more interested in the mental setup of this phenomenal athlete, along with what it must have been like when he left the number one position and when he handed over his position to Adam Ondra. Suddenly we were talking about the man's ability to manage his ego, the art of finding joy and balance in life, even when you suddenly get older... and this applies to everyone, not just climbers...
